What is Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)?
It’s said that the number of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) patients is 13.3 million (1 in 8 adults)*¹ in Japan and 9.1%*² worldwide, and the disease is growing in a increasing trend year by year, which requires attention .
Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a disease with declined kidney functions and kidney abnormalities such as proteinuria continue, but it is featured that symptoms rarely appear at the early stage which makes it difficult to be noticed. If symptoms progress without being realized, the risk of requirement for dialysis treatment or kidney transplantations increases, and so as the risk of developing heart diseases and strokes.
